Today, broadcasting in some countries has reached a record level thanks to the emergence of emerging platforms such as social networks, mobile phones, tablets, the Internet and smart TVs. The new route of broadcasting has largely broken the boundary between geography, politics, society and economy, and has enabled the diffusion of news and information and the interaction of human cultures. These changes sparked new confidence in broadcasting, and of course new uncertainties. What is the current broadcast? In what sense can multi-platform broadcasts be defined as broadcast? Will broadcast scholars also evolve into “sound-communication researchers?” Broadcasting was once defined as a non-visual medium, Now how does this “non-visualization” be defined? This article seeks to address the new uncertainties that broadcasting such an elastic medium faces.
