The 48th issue of World Weekly, published by The World Journal in New York City, reports that the Chinese Language Test will become SAT-II. The article said that in the past ten years, many American universities have Chinese departments. More and more senior high schools also offer courses in Chinese as a second foreign language. The College Board decided to include the Chinese language test as a subject in SAT-II. The report will be held on April 26, 1991 for the first time in Chinese language test. The content of the test is divided into three major items: Listening (20 minutes), grammar and reading ability (40 minutes total). Among them, the grammar test of item (b) is divided into three categories: Chinese characters, simplified Chinese characters and Chinese pinyin.
