Highway construction also need to leapfrog development? Recalling the development of China’s highway construction, it is not difficult to understand the concept of leapfrog development. In 1989, the mileage of our country’s expressways was only 271 kilometers; in 1999, it exceeded 10,000 kilometers; in 2001, it reached 19,000 kilometers, ranking the second in the world; and by the end of 2002, it reached 25,200 kilometers, an additional 5583 kilometers of expressways a year.
