“磔石”一语最早见于齐梁之际，后世文献也有用例。《汉语大词典》解释“磔石”之“磔”为“投掷、砸”，不妥，当释为“负举”；“磔石”之“磔”是表示“负举”之“桀”偏旁类推后的同义词，与“磔”的本字本义无关，“磔石”即“桀石”。“,”ZheShi(磔石)was used as a phrase from Qi and Liang dynasty. The Chinese dictionary explain the zhe(磔)of zheshi(磔石)as “TouZhi”(投掷)or“Za”(砸),which is incorrect. The Zhe(磔)of ZheShi(磔石)is the variant of Jie(桀).The ZheShi(磔石)should illustrated as JieShi(桀石).
