罗伯特·潘恩·沃伦(1905～1989):堪称美国当代文坛少见的全能作家。曾以小说《国王的人马》获普利策奖。新批评派的主要评论家。与克林斯·布鲁克斯合著的《理解小说》《理解诗歌》等书,成为美国各大学必备的教科书。1979年以《今与昔,1976～1978年诗选》再夺普利策奖,1986年,被美国国会图书馆授予“桂冠诗人”的称号,成为美国文学史上第一个桂冠诗人。
Robert Paine Warren (1905 ~ 1989): A rare universal writer in the contemporary American literary world. Pulitzer Prize was once awarded to the novel “The King of Men”. The main critic of the new criticism. The Book of Understanding Novel, Understanding Poetry, co-authored with Clins Brooks, became an indispensable textbook for every university in the United States. In 1979, he won the Pulitzer Prize again for “Today and the Past, 1976-1978 Poetry Selection”. In 1986, he was awarded the title of “Laureate Poet” by the Library of Congress and became the first poet in the history of American literature.
