在传统“旧学”中孕育着向近代“新学”转折的内在动因 ,但促成旧学解体并导致其发展方向变革的因素却来源于西学。然而 ,“化西为中”的历史过程却启动于洋务运动。洋务运动一方面将自己的支点建立在具有悠久文化传统的中学的“致用”基础上 ,一方面将另一个支点奠基在西学的“实用”价值上 ,从而发挥了沟通中学西学的桥梁作用 ,并由此引发了传统中学的近代转型。
In the traditional “old school” pregnant with the motivation of the transition to modern “new school”, but the factor that contributed to the reform of old school and led to its development direction comes from Western learning. However, the historical course of “Westing Westward” started in the Westernization Movement. On the one hand, the Westernization Movement established its own fulcrum on the basis of “practical use” of secondary schools with a long cultural tradition. On the other hand, it laid the other fulcrum on the “practical” value of Western learning and played the role of a bridge between Western high schools. And thus triggered the modern transformation of traditional high school.
