Chinese poetry and English poetry are no shortage of autumn themed masterpiece. The autumn solstice by Chinese poet Wang Wei in the Tang Dynasty and Autumn Poetry by John Keats, a British romantic poet, all share the theme of autumn. However, these two poems contain two entirely different philosophy of life. “Autumn solstice sit alone” feminine euphemism, negative coping with numerous things; “Autumn Song” but with masculine and bright style expresses the poet’s pursuit of truth and beauty. These two distinct philosophies of life derive from the influence of two different traditional cultures on literary creation, and at the same time embody the different ideological trends of the intellectuals of the two countries in their respective periods.
