First, the dual-phase steel produced by the ordinary low-alloy high-strength steel or low carbon steel by the two-phase heat treatment phase obtained by the strengthening phase martensite and plastic phase ferrite composed of duplex alloy called dual-phase steel. This dual-phase structure has good strength and ductility matching, as an effective method to obtain high strength and high formability sheet. The patent for duplex steel was published in the United States in 1968. It was not until 1975 that the chemical composition, microstructure, mechanical properties and formability of duplex steels were completely described.
