As we know, students are the center of the learning. Researchers and linguists realized the students are the vital role of learning. Since the 1970s, with the development of cognitive psychology, many researchers have concentrated on how learners approached learning. Through the research, they have found that English learning efficiency is closely related to English learning strategies.
Note-taking is an important learning strategy, and also an important classroom activity. To some extent, the effectiveness of classroom teaching and learning and influences students’ language learning. So, if students have positive attitude toward note-taking, there will be better results in improving their English proficiency.
Note-taking is an important cognitive strategy in the classroom, and as a key to language acquisition, is important. Note-taking is part of a range of student managed learning materials designed to help you to improve your skills by learning actively.
Note-taking is a way of summarizing information .In our daily lives we all take notes. When you take notes you need to make sure that you can refer to your notes and understand them. There is no point writing notes in such a coded form that when you look at them three weeks from the date you made them, you can’t remember a thing and your scribbles are meaningless.
Some researchers think note- taking is one way to enhance listening, and using a systematic approach to the taking and reviewing of your notes can immediately add to your understanding and memory of the content of lectures.
In short, note- taking helps students to process information more deeply and help the students to concentrate in class. if you can make full use of note-taking ,it will benefit your language learning.
