Wnt protein family is a series of highly conserved secreted glycoproteins, has been found in 19 Wnt proteins. Different Wnt proteins have unique secretion patterns and play different roles in embryonic development and tumorigenesis. Wnt proteins fall into two categories: the canonical Wnt protein (Wnt3a) and the non-canonical Wnt protein (Wnt5a, Wnt11), which activate the canonical Wnt signaling pathway and the nonclassical Wnt signaling pathway, respectively [1].
