The unit of measurement is to measure a quantity, which means to take another unit of the same type and compare it with this quantity. For example, the length of a piece of fabric can be compared with the length of one meter. The unit of length used by the ancients was first “elbow” (the length from the elbow to the end of the middle finger, about half a meter long - the translator), the “range of the arrow” and the “stroke of a book”, and later the ruler and feet. The unit of time used by the ancients was the interval from one harvest to the next, and from one rainy season to the next. Some peoples regard the first snowfall as the beginning of the year, and some peoples are based on the time when a constellation or star appears on the horizon. The reason why these units are not convenient to use for measurement is because they do not have certain standards and cannot accurately reproduce them.
