Preface Sichuan Basin is an important natural gas producing area in China. Nearly 30 years of exploration, has accumulated rich geological, geophysical and drilling geological data. To clarify the features and causes of the geological structure of the basin not only has important practical significance for the exploration of oil and gas reserve resources, but also is very necessary to improve the level of our geological science research. Our country’s geologists Ma Xingyuan and Wang Hongzhen had speculated that the central part of the Sichuan Basin may be an ancient nuclear or proto-Taiwan. Inspired by their arguments, the author through years of practice, the use of plate tectonics theory written in this article, understanding of skin
