教育的重要目标之一是教会学生如何学习,并帮助他们成为自主学习者。大学英语是本科院校的必修课,但大部分学生的自主学习能力普遍较低。基于问题的学习,简称PBL,是一种以学习者为中心,以问题为核心的教学模式,其主要理论基础是建构主义和人文主义理论,强调通过解决现实生活中的实际问题,激发学生的学习兴趣,掌握问题背后隐含的知识,形成解决问题的技能,培养学生的高层次思维能力和自主学习能力。文章结合具体的教学案例,阐述在大学英语课堂中如何应用PBL提高学生的自主学习能力。
One of the major goals of education is to teach the students how to learn and to help them become autonomous learners. College English is a compulsory course for undergraduate colleges, but most of the students have generally low self-learning ability. Based on the problem-based learning, referred to as PBL, is a learner-centered and problem-centered teaching model. Its main theoretical basis is constructivism and humanism. Emphasis is placed on stimulating students by solving practical problems in real life Learning interest, mastery of the underlying knowledge behind the problem, the formation of skills to solve problems, develop students’ high-level thinking ability and self-learning ability. The article combines specific teaching cases to explain how to apply PBL in college English classroom to improve students’ autonomous learning ability.
