In the middle and later stages of oilfield development, “knowing the remaining oil and tapping the remaining oil” has become one of the core contents of adjusting and enhancing oil recovery. The factors affecting the distribution of remaining oil can be generally divided into two kinds, that is, geological factors and development factors. Development factors belong to external factors, geological factors belong to internal factors. Their combined effect has led to the diversification and complexity of the current remaining oil distribution. Among the two main factors that affect the distribution of remaining oil, the geologic factors are comparatively stable in the development process and are not easy to change or change little in a short time. Therefore, the study on the formation and distribution of residual oil by geological factors is one of the more important contents in the study.
