大徐本《说文·(?)部》:“(?),前顿也。从(?)市声,贾侍中说。一读若(木合),又若郅”,《唐韵》:“北末切”。此字篆文作(?),段玉裁云:“(?),普活切,隶变作市”(段《说文》“(?),行貌”字注,此篆有误,段不能正;然以市为(?)之隶变则是也。(?)水,《孔宙、张迁碑》并作沛,是其例),得之。大徐引《唐韵》,《四部丛刊》影日本岩崎氏藏宋刻本、藤花榭本并误作“此未切”,孙氏平津馆刻本“前顿”字虽误作“颉”,然《唐韵》音独作“北末切”,与《集韵·十三末》《类篇·(?)部》引《说文》“前顿”字音合,最为审谛。吾友马宗霍《说文引通人说考》转以“北末”为“此未”之误,盖失之矣。或日:无徵不信,贾侍中以“前顿”说此“从(?)市声”,今音“北末切”之字,义何所出?段若膺注《说文》又援《玉篇》改二徐本篆作“遴”,云“前顿也,从(?)枼声”,寻《万象名义·走部》有“(?)”,云“前顿”,是原本《玉篇》实有明文,段所改定,亦可信否?应日:贾说(?)字,当读与《诗》“狼跋”字同。《豳风·狼跋》:“狼跋其胡,载疐其尾”,毛《传》:“跋,躐;疐,跲也。老狼有胡,进则躐其胡,退则(跲)其尾”。毛义并见《尔雅·释言》,郭注即引此诗,是也。孔颖达《毛诗正义》:“李巡曰:跋
