华盛顿是新闻界的一块“肥肉”,几乎所有的国家都派出记者在那儿“安营扎寨”,收集有关这个超级大国的消息。白宫、国务院的发言人几乎每天都要就世界各地所发生的事情表态,其中自然也不乏对别国“指手划脚”的例子;美国总统在会见外国客人或向记者“吹风”时打一个“喷嚏”,也许会引来记者一番彻夜不眠的刨根问底,将这个“喷嚏”带到世界各地……。几千名记者云集华盛顿,他们是“好事者”,从不“安分守己”,总想什么地方出点事,好让他们写出引人注目的消息。这是“唯恐天下不乱”的一群,两天没东西可写就象热锅上的蚂蚁,得设法“钻”出点新闻来。美国虽然标榜“新闻自由”,公民有知的权利,记者有让读者知的义务,但是,任由这几个人到处乱“钻”,也不免“钻”出是非来。于是,精明
