植物原生质体培养和体细胞杂交,是近年才发展起来的一项有无限广阔前景的新技术。它的可能应用范围是非常广泛的:从原生质培养再生出大量植株的快速无性繁殖,到原生质体的融合和引入外源遗传物质以创造植物新类型的无性杂交,都引起了人们广泛的注意。目前,烟草、胡罗卜、油菜、矮牵牛、石刁柏、曼陀罗、石龙芮等体细胞原生质体培养巳被诱导成完整植株;通过体细胞原生质体融合或导入外源遗传物质以得到杂种也在烟草上获四例成功。
