Blackberry juice can be used as food antiseptic to prevent food-borne infections. A study published in the journal Food Control shows that the blackberry has a variety of biological activities, including antibacterial and nutritional effects. The researchers investigated the antibacterial activity of blackberry (European blackberry) juice on food borne pathogens such as Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella and Escherichia coli.
