二十世纪以来,知识分子研究一直是热点话题之一,作为启蒙者的知识分子担负着巨大的历史使命,“传统与现代”、“学术与政治”一直是知识分子话题的两个轴心。进入九十年代以来,随着消费文化的泛滥,中国社会以政治话语为中心逐渐演变为以资本话语为中心,消费正在逐渐成为核心的话语方式,成为一种“新意识形态”深入社会生活的各个层面。在消费社会中,传统的知识分子的身份、角色、使命、职责都在发生转变,消费社会中的知识分子研究成为重要课题。
