石家河文化玉器最早是在50年代发现的。1955年,中国社会科学院考古研究所在天门石家河罗家柏岭遗址发掘时,出土石家河文化玉器44件,种类有人头像、蝉、龙形环、凤形环、璜和管等。1981年荆州博物馆在钟祥六合遗址清理了25座瓮棺葬,发现多数瓮棺中都随葬有数量不等的玉器及玉料残片,总数达20件,种类有人头像、蝉、璜、玦、管、笄、坠和纺轮等。1988年和1989年,石家河考古队在天门石家河肖家屋脊遗址的发掘中,出土玉器99件和大量的玉片以及边角废料,绝大多数玉器出自瓮棺葬中,少数出自文化层
Shijiazhuang culture jade was first discovered in the 1950s. In 1955, the Institute of Archeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences unearthed 44 pieces of Shijiahe cultural jade unearthed at the site of Luojia Bailing, Shimen River in Tianmen. There are some kinds of head pictures, cicadas, dragon-shaped rings, phoenix-shaped rings, Juan and pipes. In 1981, the Jingzhou Museum cleaned up 25 urn coffins at the site of Liu Xianghe in Zhongxiang and found that most of the urn coffins were covered with unequal numbers of jade pieces and jade pieces, with a total of 20 pieces. Some of them were avatars like cicadas, , 笄, pendants and spinning wheel.
