《狂人日记》常被尊为中国现代文学的开山之作、中国第一篇现代白话小说等,其地位的形成不仅与其文学特性,而且与中华人民共和国建立后近三十年时间对其形象的“政治化”塑造,以及20世纪七八十年代刻意的“拨乱反正”有关。通过梳理《狂人日记》在1949至1976年的接受情况,并结合20世纪80年代前后学术界对这部作品的重评,可以看到《狂人日记》文学史地位逐步建构、解构、重构的过程,以此或许能打破对其崇高定位的迷信,引发对《狂人日记》价值的重新认识。
