Kawabata Yasunari’s works are deeply influenced by the Western modern literary and aesthetic thoughts. His works often use new sensation and stream of consciousness techniques to express their innermost feelings and spatiotemporal jumps. At the same time, this western technique is used to express the “sorrow” aesthetic concept of one’s own nation and to express one’s philosophical idea that “existence itself is a futile one.” The production of this idea is caused by its own unique growth experience, and his work thus manifests itself as a special concern for young women. This article also found that Kawabata Yasunari and the film also have deep roots.
