“铸鼎象物”是史前时期中华民族政治宗教观念和审美观念的总结:“在德不在鼎”的观点,反映了史前至战国时期神人关系的变动轨迹;“远方图物”、“铸鼎象物”和“百物而为之备”等,是“物谓鬼神”思想观念的集中体现,反映了铸鼎象物说以原始神话和巫术为基础的思想背景;“禹铸九鼎”是铸鼎象物说提出的神话学背景,这一事件有着极为复杂的社会历史原因,既是史前人类艺术审美观念的集中体现,也在某种程度上影响了中国神话的传承方式。
