2005年11月21日至23日,来自全国近百家知名旅行社(旅游公司)的老总齐聚山西省晋中市,参加中华旅业联盟第六届年会,并考察山西省精品旅游线路。2006年,中国将向国外开放旅游市场,届时,将有大批外国旅行社(旅游公司)进入中国,直接参与中国旅游市场的经营活动。面对机遇和挑战,中国的旅行社如何壮大实力、发展自己,成了当前不可忽视而又急待解决的问题,因此,组建联盟、办好联合体就显得十分重要。年会总结了一年来的联盟工作,选举、产生了新一届联盟组织机构,提出了2006年联盟工作思路,力争用两到三年的时间,把中华旅业联盟办成中国最具特色、最有信誉和影响力的旅游联合体。
