Objective To establish a method for the determination of rare earth elements (REEs) in aquatic products and to understand the content and distribution characteristics of rare earth elements in aquatic products for the purpose of providing basis for their risk monitoring and formulation of related standards. Methods A total of 326 samples of 6 types of aquatic products were collected from Hangzhou market during 2014-2015 and determined by microwave digestion-inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. Results The average contents of rare earth elements and rare earth oxides in commercial aquatic products were 0.112 2 mg / kg and 0.136 5 mg / kg respectively, with median values of 0.007 8 mg / kg and 0.010 8 mg / kg, respectively , With the maximum values of 3.102 7 mg / kg and 3.733 4 mg / kg, respectively. The average contents were higher than those of cereals and fresh meat. Some samples were significantly higher than those of vegetables, preserved eggs and other foods. In addition, the enrichment showed a more obvious positive correlation, and the content was quite different. Bivalve aquatic products were significantly higher than other samples, followed by cephalopods> marine crustaceans> freshwater crustaceans> marine fish> freshwater fishes. Ce, La, Nd, Y, Sc and other major rare earth elements. Conclusion The method is accurate and sensitive. The overall content of rare earth elements in Hangzhou aquatic products is relatively low, but the content of rare earth elements in some aquatic products is relatively high. The health risks caused by long-term intake of aquatic products such as bivalve can not be neglected.
