Granny loved to make gadgets.
奶奶喜欢发明小玩意儿｡
“I can’t find your baby kitten.” said Granny to her cat. So she made a machine for finding lost pets.
“我找不到你的猫宝宝了｡”奶奶对猫妈妈说｡于是,她发明了一台专门寻找丢失宠物的机器｡
The machine found lots of things. But it didn’t find the baby kitten.
“宠物寻找机”找到了许多东西,可就是没找到猫宝宝｡
Ben and Ellie got out Granny’s housework machine.
本和埃莉搬出了奶奶的“家务劳动机”｡
Ben pushed the button number one, the machine started to hum.
本按下1号钮,机器开始哼哼起来｡
Ellie pushed the button number two, the machine grew and grew.
埃莉按下2号钮,机器长出了手和脚｡
When they pushed button number three, it buzzed like a bee.
当他们按下3号钮时,机器像蜜蜂一样嗡嗡作响｡
When they pushed button number four, the machine started to roar.
当他们按下4号钮时,机器开始吼叫轰鸣｡
But when they pushed button number five,it really came alive!
但是,当他们按下5号钮时,机器简直活了起来!
It washed the floor and dried the dishes. It dusted the books and cooked the dinner. It fed the cat and walked the dog.
它拖地板､擦盘子､掸书上的灰尘､煮晚餐､喂猫､遛狗｡
But...it got hotter and hotter.
但是……它变得越来越热｡
Then it washed the dog and dusted the dinner. It cooked the books and fed the floor. It ran into the garden and washed the trees. It dusted the flowers, it dried the shed.
接着,它开始给狗洗澡､清扫晚餐､煮书､喂地板｡它跑到花园里浇树､擦花､晾屋棚｡
“Stop!” shouted the children.
“快停下!”孩子们大声叫｡
Granny came running. She pushed button number six. The machine stopped.
奶奶闻声跑来,她按下6号钮,机器停了下来｡
Ben and Ellie looked at the mess. “We’re sorry.” they said.
本和埃莉看着眼前乱糟糟的景象,抱歉地说:“对不起｡”
But Granny wasn’t cross. “Look!” she said. “There’s the baby kitten.”
但是奶奶居然没生气｡“瞧!”她说,“猫宝宝找到了｡”
“Meow,” said the cat.
“喵!”猫妈妈应声叫起来｡
