很多公共艺术的量体庞大,在视觉上显得醒目,置于场所颇具侵略性。究竟以公共、公众为名的艺术,群众能有多少的参与权或决定权?公共艺术如何“做”才能更贴近我们?美国作家兼行动家利帕(Lucy R.Lippard)提出:“并不是所有被称为公共艺术的作品,都配拥有这个名衔。”她直指公共艺术应是“那些关心群众,向群众挑战,涉及群众和征询群众意见的艺术作品。它们是一些为群众而作,或和群众一起创造的结果。”
