After 2010, the teachers conducted a drastic change in the music class for middle school students, one of which strictly required students’ innovative ideas on music. However, because middle school students are subject to the exam-oriented teaching, most Chinese middle schools nowadays do not require students to have innovative ideas for music. The inherent way of teaching music is still at the top of the class. Slow teaching methods like this still hinder the development of creative thinking of middle school students.
