The most common driveline combinations in a car are the front-mounted rear-drive engine and the east-west front mounted transversal drive powertrain and the resulting modified all-wheel drive combined in different vehicles. The main gearbox units currently used are 4 or 5-speed automatic gearboxes and 4, 5 or 6-speed manual gearboxes, small quantities of automated manual transmissions (AMTs) and continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) and are now being developed in different versions Automatic manual gearboxes such as dual-clutch powered power shaft gearboxes and arc cone wheel gearboxes. This article gives a brief description of the special application of the gearbox assembly and all the different drivetrain combinations in the various drivetrains. This article focuses on gearbox construction and size installation, fuel economy trends at all speed ratios, emissions and noise reduction, performance, ride comfort, transmission quality and manufacturing costs. This will result in the evaluation and advice of using some kind of transmission device in different driveline combinations. In the future 6-speed automatic transmission and 6-speed manual transmission will be widely used in standard transmission. Continuously variable transmission will be increased in the application of the front transverse drive, 6-speed manual transmission in the front transverse drive dominates, in this regard the degree of automation will increase, the torque close to 180 Nm, the preferred choice of automated Manual gearbox.
