Objective To explore the relationship between the micro-nutrition assessment (MNA) and traditional objective nutrition evaluation index. Methods 100 patients with head and neck cancer who underwent elective surgery were randomly selected and their nutritional status was assessed by objective nutritional indices and MNA method. Results The positive rates of objective nutrition index below normal were 20% of body mass index, 22% of triceps skinfold thickness, 19% of middle upper arm muscle, 4% of serum albumin, 2% of hemoglobin, 31% of prealbumin, And transferrin 24%. According to the MNA assessment, nutritional status scores were divided into three groups: 68% were well-nourished, 20% were malnourished, and 12% were malnourished. In addition to hemoglobin and albumin, the remaining objective There were significant differences among the three nutritional indicators (P <0.05). There was a significant correlation between MNA and traditional objective nutrition indexes. Conclusion MNA can be used as an effective nutritional status screening method for patients with head and neck cancer.
