红萍是一种蕨类与鱼腥藻(AhabaenaAzollae)共生具有固氮功能的水生植物。在红萍同化叶后下方有共生腔,腔内聚集鱼腥藻。红萍就是依赖共生腔里的鱼腥藻进行共生固氮。人们养殖利用红萍的历史虽然悠久,但对其共生固氮的机理迄今尚不清楚。设法获得无藻萍,探索鱼腥藻侵入萍体建立共生关系,对研究红萍的固氮机理和培育优良萍种有重大的理论意义和实践价值。我们选用生长良好的红萍,用水洗净后,切取其分枝顶端0.3公分左右,将其带有顶芽的小段置于小纱布袋中用清水淋洗0.5~1小时,移入无菌室或超净工作台内的小烧杯里,
