《灰色马,灰色的骑手》是凯瑟琳·安娜·波特短篇小说集中的一部同名短篇小说。如今国内外学者对此作品的研究大多主要集中在其写作技巧、风格和主题等方面,也有学者从地域性研究以及女性主义研究的视角来分析此作品。本文将从存在主义的视角来解读其主人公,米兰达。通过对主人公战时与战后面对生活中的种种荒诞而做出的选择进行分析,得出结论:面对生活中的荒诞,人们依然有自由选择的权利,通过选择,人们可以改变自己的命运,体现自身存在的价值。存在主义思想在米兰达身上得以充分的体现,她是一位存在主义式英雄。
