高中新课程改革后的历史课程由三个必修模块和六个选修模块组成,都属于专题史。必修课的三个模块包括25个古今贯通、中外关联的学习专题,分别反映了人类社会政治、经济、思想文化、科学技术等领域的重要历史内容。像这样的一些专题史与通史比较,因为研究的范围、空间更加广阔,也更容易激起学生的学习兴趣,但另一方面,因为课程知识的广泛性和学习内容的选择性,传统的历史教学模式,即告知学生在历史上的某年某月发生了什么事以及重要人物的事迹等等已经不合时宜了,历史教学必须进行变革,才能适应新课程改革的需要。
