目前,美国一个高级模拟设计中心的工程技术人员,正利用“虚拟海洋”数学模型,构想设计一个特大型海上浮动建筑物计算机模拟样体——比10个航空母舰还大的自推式军事基地。该样体被命名为“MOB”移动式海上军事基地,由5个分体组成,分体之间用绞合连接器连结。 移动式海上军事基地是一个具有诸多优点的海上庞然大物,可替代美国海外陆基固定基地,启用时,在固定位置上可部分潜没水中,可为军事行动的开展和后勤服务及海上救助等提供可靠的平台。
