Currently in laryngeal microsurgery two different laser systems are used, CO 2 laser (wavelength = 10.6 μm) and Neodym: Yag laser (wavelength 1.06 μm). This article summarizes the experience gained in animal experiments and clinical work with medical radiation lasers using neodymium: yttrium lasers over many years and reports on the efficacy of laryngeal laser dissemination.
