The protective effect of estrogen on the cardiovascular system is an important reason that women of childbearing age suffer less from such diseases. In this study, aortic endothelial cells cultured in vitro were used as experimental materials to investigate the effect of estradiol on the antioxidant system of vascular endothelial cells. The results showed that 0.5μg / ml estradiol significantly increased the activity of intracellular SOD, and correspondingly, the content of intracellular peroxidation MDA significantly decreased. It is suggested that estradiol at this concentration can improve the intracellular antioxidant capacity and thus may prevent the damage of endothelial cells by reactive oxygen species, which is often the beginning of atherosclerosis. 0.05μg / ml estradiol showed a similar trend, but the difference did not reach significant level. 5μg / ml estradiol decreased the activity of SOD in endothelial cells, and significantly increased the content of MDA in the cells, indicating that the effect of estradiol on endothelial cells was related to the level of hormones. At the same time, different doses of estrogen The effect of lipofuscin content of metabolic residues during endothelial cell aging was not found to be significantly different from the control.
