海带岩藻糖胶经口服能有效地降低小鼠的高胆固醇血清TC水平，最佳剂量为150mg／kg，在人药后4h左右作用明显；同时150mg／kg剂量也能较好的防止高胆固醇血症的形成。岩藻糖胶对正常小鼠血清TC无明显影响。
