本期阅读评点:《兄弟》(上)(余华著,上海文艺出版社2005年8月第1版)主持人:自本年度7月份上海书展的第一天开始,余华的长篇新作《兄弟》(上)在一段时期成为阅读和销售焦点。书展当天排队等待签名买书者“在展馆楼梯上绕了几个圈”,当日销售669本,为该书销售开了好头,自7月底到现在余华的个人宣传(接受媒体采访、开办讲座和签名售书等活动)、出版社的积极市场运作、各方媒体的无比热情加盟、文学评论家的各抒己见和网友们的“唇枪舌战”等,皆为《兄弟》的良好销售业绩立下了汗马功劳。尽管余华认为自己“不是一个畅销书作家”,但自出版以来,《兄弟》一直在畅销书排行榜上名列前茅。
