别林斯基等一代批评家的成功之处，在于他们在艺术愿望和艺术达成上做了卓越的思考，民族性、典型性在他们那里得到了尊重和强调。中国的文艺批评曾走进误区，鼓吹围绕工作中心来写作。纵观西方现代批评，他们偏重形式技巧，走向另一极端。我们的批评应该是艺术的研究和集体的研究，也就是解放人生研究和集体意义上一个特别的解放人生的研究。
The success of Belinsky and other critics is that they have done remarkable thinking about the artistic aspirations and artistic accomplishments, and their nationality and typicality have been respected and emphasized by them. China’s literary criticism has gone into erroneous zones and advocated writing around the work center. Looking at Western modern criticism, they tend to emphasize formal skills and move to the other extreme. Our criticism should be the study of the arts and the study of the collective, that is, the study of the liberation of life and the study of a special liberation of life in the collective sense.
