This article studies the physiological and morphological changes that occur in guinea pigs infected with the cochlear virus in an attempt to derive the related strains. The test animals were 31 seronegative female Hartley guinea pigs (400-800 g). Guinea pig cytomegalovirus was used to inoculate the scala tympani on the right side of the test animal, and the left cochlea was inactivated by the virus. Guinea pigs after vaccination have labyrinthitis.
