凡温度高于绝对零度的所有物体,都能辐射出电磁能量——红外辐射能量。所放射的总能量是与该物体的绝对温度的四次幂和它的比辐射率成正比的。比辐射率是一个已知物体与标准黑体相比,作为一个能量的吸收体/辐射体的效能的测定。机载红外测温仪的高机动性和日夜可以工作的特性,使这一遥感方法对概略的海洋学观测特别有用。
All objects at temperatures above absolute zero radiate electromagnetic energy - infrared radiant energy. The total energy emitted is proportional to the fourth power of the absolute temperature of the object and its relative emissivity. Emissivity is the determination of the efficacy of an object as an energy absorber / radiator compared to a known object. The high mobility of airborne infrared thermometers and the ability to work day and night make this remote sensing method particularly useful for rough oceanographic observations.
