By the end of 2006, Peking People’s Art Theater performed a less well-known drama of Coriolanus in Shakespeare. Its Chinese name is “Major General Kou Liu Lan”. It was translated by Mr. Ying Ruocheng in his later years and directed by two directors, Lin Zhaohua and Yi Liming. After the performance, the audience reacted enthusiastically and expressed a great deal about the artistic form of the play and the rich social thought content it carried. We hereby invite a few friends to make some discussions in and out of this play from different angles in the form of writing-on, in the hope of helping to understand it. Text attached to the story by the Beijing People’s Theater, special thanks to the table.
