人类科学技术进入高度发展时期,许多先进的科学技术应运而生,譬如现代巨型客机、宇宙飞船、航天飞机、核能电站、高层建筑、地铁工程、巨大水力枢纽和超级远洋货轮等已相继问世。所谓巨大技术,就是成百上千个技术的科学结合而诞生的技术,也是多种技术高度的结晶。以巨型客机为例,只有现代化的材料学、燃料学、电子学、结构力学和发动机等技术高度成熟,并很好的结合,用于大型客机的制造上,才能使这种巨大技术——巨型客机问世。 巨大技术的应用,也孕育着某种巨大的危险,若防范不严或有不慎,会发生骇人听闻的重大事故。这方面的事例不胜枚举,这里略述几例。1954年,日本青函渡船“洞爷丸”号,突然沉没于汪洋大海之中,
