2004年西北大学征集到一方唐代日本留学生井真成墓志,引起了国内外学术界的广泛关注。为了进一步研究墓志的内容及其在中日文化交流史上的意义,2005年4月9日,陕西省文物局与西北大学在西安联合召开了“唐代日本留学生井真成墓志学术研讨会”。会议由陕西省文物局副局长刘云辉主持,西北大学副校长朱恪孝致辞,西北大学名誉校长、著名学者张岂之先生出席了会议并讲了话。参加会议的有北京大学历史系荣新江、王小甫教授,清华大学人文学院张国刚教授,北京师范大学历史系王子今教授,中国社会科学院历史研究所吴玉贵研究员、马一虹副研究员,陕西省考古研究所
In 2004, Northwest University solicited an epitaph of Jingjing Cheng, a Japanese student in the Tang Dynasty, arousing widespread concern in academia at home and abroad. In order to further study the contents of the epitaphs and their significance in the history of Sino-Japanese cultural exchanges, on April 9, 2005, the Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics and Northwest University jointly held the Seminar on “Epitaphs of Jingzhen Cheng, a Japanese Student in the Tang Dynasty” . The meeting was chaired by Liu Yunhui, deputy director of Shaanxi Provincial Bureau of Cultural Relics, Zhu Kexiao, Vice-Chancellor of Northwestern University, Mr. Zhang Qizhi, honorary president and famous scholar of Northwestern University, attended the meeting and made a speech. The meeting was attended by Professor Rong Xinjiang, Professor Wang Xiaofu, Department of History of Peking University, Professor Zhang Guogang of Tsinghua University, Professor Wang Zijin from History Department of Beijing Normal University, researcher Wu Yugui from Historical Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, associate researcher Ma Yihong, Shaanxi Institute of Archeology
