利用杂交技术,把野生棉抗病、抗虫,纤维高品质等有益性状转移到栽培棉种,是扩大种质来源的一个重要途径。近年来,我国有些单位也先后开展种间远缘杂交,并获得了几个具有特殊性状的杂种。有关野生棉及其在杂交育种上的利用,尚有许多基本问题有待解决,至为密切。本文试从花器官形态特征、开花习性和花粉生活力等方面作概括介绍,仅供参考。 1980~82年,共观察16个野生棉种。棉种名及起源地见表。
