以台湾达悟(雅美)族作家夏曼·蓝波安的《冷海情深》与《海浪的记忆》为分析文本,将他的作品置于20世纪80年代以来台湾社会解严及原住民文学兴起的时空语境与历史脉络,考察其中呈现的回归部落、重新发掘传统文化这一实践的价值,及他省思部落命运时必然面临的摆荡于传统价值与现代价值之间的困境。
