bastille DAY
Although many thousands of miles away from Paris,where the islanders of French Polynesia celebrate this holiday with great enthusiasm during a two-week festival that includes singing, dancing and sporting events. In Papeete, the capital of Tahiti, spearthrowers test their markmanship in a contest where the target is a coconut mounted on a pole.

法属波利尼西亚群岛虽然与巴黎远隔千里，但当初巴士底狱的风暴却让这里的人难以忘怀。
岛上的人热情而隆重地举行两周的庆祝活动——歌咏比赛、舞蹈演出，各项体育比赛等。在塔希提群岛的首都——帕皮提，还举行投掷镖枪比赛。他们在远处将椰子绑在杆子上作为靶子，看谁是神投手！
PALIO OF THE CONTRADE
Twice every year, the main square of the city of Siena in Italy is the scene of a horse race named after the palio or cloak awarded to the winner. Horsemen from ten districts ride bareback,competing with each other in a contest that dates back to the 15th century. Before the race, there is a parade and display of flag-waving.

意大利锡耶纳市府广场，每年人们都能见到两次赛马活动的热闹场面。这项活动由史上为胜利归来勇士披上斗篷而产生的。
早在公元15世纪时，锡耶纳人就开始举行赛马比赛了。今天，他们继承了这一项传统。来自10个不同教区的勇士们骑着不带任何装束的马，威风凛凛地汇集到市政府广场。在鼓声、呐喊声和彩旗的挥舞中，比赛开始了。
