如果气体未被冷凝为固态,欲要在绝对零度附近观察低温气体分子是不可能的。美国芝加哥大学的物理化学家利用超音速分子束的方法发展了原有的分光镜观察方法,有可能使单个气体分子发出的谱线更为简单。最引人注目的是将激光技术用于对超音室分子束的谱线进行观察。
If the gas is not condensed into a solid state, it is not possible to observe cryogenic gas molecules near absolute zero. The physicists at the University of Chicago in the United States used supersonic molecular beam methods to develop the original spectroscopic methods that make it easier to emit spectral lines from a single gas molecule. Most notable is the use of laser technology for the observation of the line of ultrasound beam.
