The only passage between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean is the Strait of Gibraltar. During the Second World War, the British military was heavily guarded and controlled the two sides of the Strait of Gibraltar. Other countries’ ships could not pass. However, German submarines can successfully pass through this strait, travel between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, and continue to attack British warships, giving the British a great threat. Oh I see. The water level in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean is different. In the Mediterranean, because of its high evaporation, seawater has high salinity, high density, and low water levels. The adjacent Atlantic Ocean has a lower salinity than the Mediterranean Sea, a lower density, and a higher water surface than the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, the surface waters of the Atlantic Ocean flow in through the Strait of Gibraltar.
