From the point of view of Marx’s theory of need, the ultimate goal of art production is to satisfy the needs of mankind. Necessary needs are the internal impetus and the realistic foundation of mankind’s practice of art production. Art production activities, as the form of human activity with strong individuality and personality, should be based on the main body of artistic practice activities and define the special essence of artistic production from the essential characteristics of human needs. Under the imperative of the object-oriented practice of human being, people establish the aesthetic relationship with the reality, and the art production is the intermediary that links the aesthetic relationship. The general alienation under capitalism will inevitably bring about the hostility of capitalist production and artistic production. The fundamental value and function of the existence of art are rooted in the structure of the needs of human nature. To understand the hostility of artistic production and capitalist production should also be explained by its ability to reflect the aesthetic sense of the essential human needs.
